Greek Jazz Library
Digital collection of Greek and Cypriot jazz discography, artists, publications, events, and related culture from the 1960s to today.
jazzlibrary.grMove a rich Omeka-era jazz archive into a purpose-built site where discography, artists, publications, and exhibits are actually usable for researchers and fans.
In collaboration with Runaway/Designed by Yannis Baritakis
About the project
Greek Jazz Library aims to hold ‘all about’ the Greek and Cypriot jazz scene in one place — albums published in Greece, Cyprus, or abroad by Greek and Cypriot artists, plus foreigners living there, alongside radio shows, books, comics, and related art from the 1960s to today.
We rebuilt the archive beyond a generic Omeka setup into a purpose-built Laravel platform with structured taxonomy for discography, artists, publications, events, and exhibits. Bilingual English/Greek navigation and research-friendly browse/search make the collection usable rather than merely stored.
The development focus was cultural durability: a dedicated archive UX for researchers and fans, maintainable CMS content, and a living catalogue that keeps Greek jazz memory accessible as the scene grows.
